Citibank's 12 Month 2.2% APY High Yield CD Offer
Today Citibank is out with a 2.2% APY Certificate of Deposit, the only option is a 12 month deal with a minimum of $500 in the account. It's not great, but its not half bad considering its from Citigroup (NYSE:C) and since U.S. Taxpayers own the company, you know they'll make good on the CD (but then again the FDIC loves giving over more money).

If it makes you feel any better, FDIC increased the amount of insurance it provides on eligible savings deposits from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2009. This means that consumer accounts — such as savings, CDs, and money market accounts — are insured for up to $250,000 through December 31, 2009.
