SeekingAlpha.com and 'Liam Mulcahy' bring down Microvision (MVIS)
Microvision, Inc. (NASDAQ:MVIS) hit $2.70 a share today before making it back to $3, adjusting to just -10% after a negative post about the company on Seeking Alpha. The SA article (if you can call it that) was done by Liam Mulcahy, who is described as “works in a hedge fund that is short Microvision.” The hedge fund isn’t named and big question is, who the hell is the guy?
Turns out Liam Mulcahy also wrote a piece back in December that was short on FTEK. Liam's bio on SA is the following (see author's picture to the right):
Liam Mulcahy is a new contributor to Seeking Alpha who will soon submit a bio.
Note: Seeking Alpha editors have contact information for all contributors to enable ongoing communication regarding articles published.
Okay SeekingAlpha, will you provide the contact information on Liam so that we can get his credentials, maybe an actual picture, how about the 'Hedge Fund' he works at?
If Liam wrote an article for you back in December 07, how much longer do you need or does he need to put together a 'bio'? No photo ID? That's okay, does he have a Library Card or perhaps a High School Activity Card? That should do.
In this day and age where websites compete for page hits, traffic, and advertising revenue at what price is integrity, facts, and credibility compromised?
Is there no end to the 'pump and dump' scams if they make it from the message boards to SeekingAlpha.com? If you can type, have a pulse, and can copy/paste data from Google or Yahoo Finance, you can write an article on SeekingAlpha.com.
We'll even help, here's the link:

How great is that! You can pretend to be anyone you want to be, move over Second Life, you can be a Wall Street Analyst on SeekingAlpha.com!!
One could argue our website is complete trash and that's fine, but at least we don't publish information that we can't backup, how can you? Otherwise, nobody will believe anything you say and a few months later, you only have 7 unique visitors.
In SeekingAlpha.com's defense, maybe Liam Mulcahy does work for a Hedge Fund and is a credible source. But from the current Bio on their site, it just makes you wonder.
Hold the phone, this just in from SA, here's Liam and a photo:
Nice work SA. Unbelievable.

Better yet, the Fly's take:
Bottom line, thanks to SeekingAlpha's post, MVIS is a great bounce candidate.
