Bank of America's 2% APY 12 Month High Yield CD
BofA is offering a 2% APY CD for most states in the U.S., you have to pony up a minimum of $5,000 but it happens to be one of the better high yield CDs out there right now.

The Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is accurate as of 04/29/09. This promotional APY applies only to the initial term of a new High Yield CD with a/an 12-month term. We may change this promotional APY at any time without prior notice. The minimum balance required to open a High Yield CD is $5,000. We may limit the amount you may invest in one or more High Yield CDs to a total of $500,000.

If it makes you feel any better, FDIC increased the amount of insurance it provides on eligible savings deposits from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2009. This means that consumer accounts — such as savings, CDs, and money market accounts — are insured for up to $250,000 through December 31, 2009.
