JetBlue, Delta, and AMR Shares Take Flight (JBLU, DAL, AMR)
Its game on for the airline stocks and JetBlue (JBLU), Delta Air Lines (DAL), and AMR Corp (AMR) are all flying high today thanks to increasing traffic numbers and load factor. Delta and AMR shares are up over 9% and JetBlue is almost up 6%.
United Airlines (UAUA) says its January passenger traffic increased 2.4%, to 8.77B revenue passenger miles, on capacity that fell 2%. Load factor (percentage of seats filled) rose 3.4 points to 78.5%.
Meanwhile, American Airlines (AMR) joins JetBlue (JBLU) and U.S. Airways (LCC) in charging a fee for blanket and pillow: $8 on domestic and some international flights.
