Doug Kass Really at Woodstock? Doobage Talking

musical youthOne of our readers pointed out this weekend that Doug Kass couldn't have seen Joni Mitchell at Woodstock because she was never there.  The conversation of Doobage Kass talking up Woodstock, Stocks & Love and what not can be found at this story we ran last week - Doug Kass Watch: CNBC Appearance (Video Included).  Joni Mitchell was originally slated to perform, but canceled at the urging of her manager to avoid missing a scheduled appearance on The Dick Cavett Show. So Doug, Pass the Dutchie on the Left Hand Side.

Hat tip to Big Pimping B. Miller who sent in:
I'm surely not the first one to bring this up but Kass remembers seeing Joni Mitchell singing at Woodstock . What a bullshitter, she wasn't there! Her manager had her skip it to do the Dick Cavett show instead. Look it up yourself. Kass might have gotten away with that charade if not for that obvious lie. He makes me ill, what a poser on national TV. I'm sure he's eating crow tonight.

How does it feel when you got no herb?  Of course Musical Youth changed that up to be 'no food', but it was a cover version of the song "Pass the Kouchie" by The Mighty Diamonds, which deals with the recreational use of cannabis, "kouchie" being slang for a cannabis pipe. For the cover version, the song's title was bowdlerized to "Pass the Dutchie" and all obvious drug references were removed from the lyrics; e. g., when the original croons "How does it feel when you got no herb?", the cover version refers to "food" instead.

Happy Monday Masters, enjoy the video:

B. Miller has it pegged. Someone passing themself off with a lie/fib to try and score points.

With fidelity to the facts like that, small wonder our financial markets are such a mess.

Kass attempted to redeem himself on theStreet.com the next day. Its too bad when ex-hippies can't just come clean and say "I was too baked to remember, I thought she was there". Seriously, who gives a shit after the fact.
