A Whatever Friday: Record Unemployment yet a Rally?
There's no point on trying to piece it together, the guys saying 'it's priced in', 'baked in' or whatever can't explain it. It's a glum outlook and once reality sets in, it can get very dangerous holding securities. But hey, its Friday and we all can agree, this place sucks. Enjoy the clip:
Employers cut 533,000 jobs in November, increasing the unemployment rate to 6.7%.
The cuts mark the largest one-month decline in employment since December 1974. And the number is much higher than analysts expected; they predicted a loss of 320,000 jobs.
Just wait until this sets in, people stop spending even if gas goes to $1 a gallon, our stocks are going to get hit. But whatever...
